This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on saspherton.co.uk and explains your choices.
4.1 What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) by a website you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to support a website's analytical and personalisation functions, and to support advertising.
4.2 Cookies on this site
The website does not load analytics, marketing, or personalisation cookies by default. The only cookies actively set on first visit are:
saspherton_age_ok— alocalStorageitem (technically not a cookie; an HTML5 web-storage entry under the same domain). Stores a timestamp recording your age-gate confirmation. 30-day duration. Not transmitted to any server.- CookieConsent — set by Cookiebot (when activated by the operator) to record your cookie preferences. Set under the domain
consent.cookiebot.comand aggregated tosaspherton.co.uk. 12-month duration.
If the operator subsequently activates analytics, marketing, or other cookies, they will be declared in the Cookiebot Cookie Declaration below.
4.3 Cookiebot Cookie Declaration
The Cookiebot Cookie Declaration above will populate, post-activation, with a real-time list of every cookie set on the site at the moment of your visit, grouped by purpose (Necessary / Preferences / Statistics / Marketing).
4.4 Managing cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences in three ways:
- Click "Manage cookies" in the salon's footer. This opens the Cookiebot consent dialog and allows you to accept or reject each category individually. Saspherton calls
Cookiebot.renew()for this. - Block cookies in your browser. All major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) provide a setting that allows you to refuse all cookies, or to refuse third-party cookies, or to delete cookies that have already been set.
- Use a privacy-focused browser such as Brave, Mullvad, or Tor Browser, which by default refuses non-essential cookies.
If you refuse all cookies, the website will still function — the only thing you will lose is the 30-day suppression of the age-gate, which means the age-gate dialog will appear on every visit.
4.5 Third-party cookies
The website may, after the operator activates them, set cookies through third parties. The third parties potentially involved are:
- Cookiebot (Cybot A/S, Denmark) — for cookie-consent management.
- Google reCAPTCHA (Google LLC, USA) — for spam-protection on the contact and reservation forms. reCAPTCHA may set cookies under
google.comfor fraud-detection purposes. - Google Maps (Google LLC, USA) — for the embedded map on /contact/ and /reservations/. Google Maps embeds may set
NIDcookies undergoogle.com. - Google Fonts (Google LLC, USA) — fonts are served from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com. Google Fonts does not set cookies but does receive request logs.
When you visit the site for the first time after Cookiebot activation, Cookiebot's banner will request your consent before any of the above third-party cookies are set (except for Cookiebot's own consent cookie, which is necessary).
