1.2 Premises licences

Saspherton Salon operates under the following premises licences and registrations:

• Westminster City Council Premises Licence No. WK/2026/03847 — categories A (beer), B (wine), and C (spirits), for on-premises consumption only. Designated Premises Supervisor: Helena Marchwood.
• Food Standards Agency Hygiene Rating: 5 — Very Good (FSA reference FSA-WST-2026-1184, last inspected 18 February 2026).
• Listed Building consent: 22 Chiltern Street is a Grade II-listed building (List Entry No. 1226394 in the National Heritage List for England). Any alteration to the fabric of the building is undertaken with the consent of Westminster City Council's Conservation team.

1.3 Banking and accounting

Saspherton & Hertford Ltd banks with Coutts & Co (Banking and Wealth, 440 Strand, London WC2R 0QS). Annual accounts are filed with Companies House under the small-company exemption regime; signed annual accounts are available on the Companies House public record.

1.4 Saspherton Salon is not a casino

Saspherton & Hertford Ltd does not hold a UK Gambling Commission operating licence. The salon does not offer:

• bingo for prizes;
• casino games for stake-and-prize;
• equal-chance gaming above the de-minimis threshold of the Gambling Act 2005;
• betting or pool-betting of any kind;
• any form of money-stake gaming under any statutory definition.

The salon hosts members' social card play at members' tables. Members pay a table fee for hospitality (welcome drinks, plateau, and on certain evenings a set menu). Prizes at the four cyclical Klub evenings are exclusively in kind — vouchers redeemable on Saspherton hospitality, magnums of English sparkling wine, weekend hotel packages, and hand-engraved silver-plate tokens. No money stakes are placed.

Under section 12 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any service provided at the salon must be performed with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and at a reasonable price. Unresolved complaints can be referred to the Westminster City Council Trading Standards team.

1.8 Trademarks

The trading name "Saspherton" and the wordmark logo are trademarks of Saspherton & Hertford Ltd (UK Trade Mark No. UK00004215876). Use of the wordmark in third-party press, promotional, or commercial material requires prior written consent from press@saspherton.co.uk.

The Aldus hedera (❧, U+2767) is a Unicode character in the public domain and is not subject to trademark protection. The salon's specific use of the hedera as the centred glyph of a parchment-coloured 1-pixel hairline rule, in the colour #7A2E1E, at 0.85em scale, forms part of the salon's trade dress; reproduction of that combined treatment in third-party material requires the consent above.

1.9 Limit of liability for this website

Information published on saspherton.co.uk is offered for general information about the salon. Menu prices and menu items are correct at the time of publication; both are subject to seasonal variation and to availability of supply. Opening hours are correct at the time of publication; the salon may close for private events, public-holiday observances, and refurbishment works — please confirm by phone before travelling for time-sensitive visits.

The salon does not accept liability for arrangements you make on the basis of information shown on this website where the information later proves to be incorrect at the time of your visit. Where the salon's reservations team has confirmed a booking by email, the booking is binding on the salon to the same extent as a verbal confirmation made at the salon's reception.

1.10 Governing law and jurisdiction

These notices, the Privacy Notice, the Terms of Service, the Cookie Policy, and the Klub Rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under or in connection with them. Members residing elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union retain such consumer rights as the law of their place of residence affords them.
